Dakota City is a non-profit organization that welcomes anyone interested in preserving the
past for today and tomorrow. Volunteers are vital for providing Dakota City programs.
There are many varied opportunities for volunteers and new volunteers are always
welcome.

Dakota City is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies on contributions from
individuals interested in preserving our rural history. You are invited to join them and
become a Dakota City Friends of the Village or Member through your financial
contribution.

Dakota City Heritage Village connects modern generations to the rural life and agricultural
heritage in Dakota County through living history intrepretations, education, and the
collection, preservation, and exhibition of information, objects, and buildings
                                                             Vision

Dakota City will collect and preserve rural and agricultural history of Dakota County and
provide educational opportunities through school programs, exhibits, and events to
promote historic awareness. Dakota City will continue to portray and interpret the
Heritage Village as a 1900-era business and social center of the local community and
enrich the public's understanding and appreciation of farming and village life in Dakota
County
