Family and Friends Fun Day

       A day for families, friends or individuals to enjoy a visit to the past and spend a
    day at Dakota City touring our historic village from the early 1900s. The village will
    be open from 10am - 4pm, with tours starting on the hour and the last tour at
    2:00pm. Meet a costumed guide in our office to take you on a 90-minute walk
    through the village. Do some hands-on activities with the local villagers. Visit the
    gift shop for a treat and maybe find a souvenir to take home. Stroll through the
    museum and see horse-drawn buggies and farm machinery from the good ol'
    days. Bring your own lunch and have a picnic on our village grounds. A ticket is
    needed to be in the village. Cost is $5 per person age 3 and up; includes museum
    entrance, guided village tour and a treat from the gift shop.

    Purchase your ticket in the Dakota City Office located in Ahlberg Hall. For
    questions please call our office.  

A Day in the Big City
July 20
     Dakota City Villagers will be taking a trip to the big city to ride the electric
     streetcar at Lake Harriet. Come visit and ride with us. Check back later for more
     information.

Dakota County Fair   ( www.dakotacountyfair.org)
August  5th - 11th

    Visit us during the fabulous Dakota County Fair, one of the largest and
    oldest   county fairs in the state! Dakota City buildings will be staffed
    with costumed hosts interpreting rural 1900-era life in Dakota County.
    Enjoy demonstrations on wood-stove cooking, blacksmithing, and many
    more.  Enjoy bands and performers at the Bandstand and Dakota City's
    big-top tent all week long, and refreshments in the cool climate of the
    Drugstore.

        
 Our Chautauqua is back -

  Admission is free with your paid admission to the Dakota County Fair.
  The Chautauqua is located in the Dakota City Heritage Village.

Harvest Moon Festival
October 18th & 19th     Hours: 10:00am - 8:00pm

    Harvest Moon Festival is two events into one. During the day it is the hands-on
    experience. Starting at dusk it is "Not-too-Spooky " hayride.... (more info)

                                                 Admission:

                                          $5.00 - 13 and up
                                          $3.00 - 4 thru 12
                                          Free  - 3 and under

                     Hands-on experience:         10:00am - 6:00pm

Note: Activity sheets will be handed out, you have till 6:00 to work on
them. Buildings will close at 6:15pm to the hands-on experience to get
ready for the "Not-to -Spooky" hayride.

                    "Not-too-Spooky" hayride:     6:30pm - 8:00pm

                Trolley rides are free with paid admission


               
Christmas in the Village/ Village Holidays

7th & 8th                        Hours: 1 pm to 8 pm – Saturday
14th & 15th                     Hours: 1 pm to 8 pm - Sunday

    Visit our buildings that will be lit with lights inside and out throughout our village.
    Draft horses draw trolleys and give visitors a ride around the village with a

Lady Jane's Victorian Tea
May 3, 2014

                    Step back 100 years and relax at an opulent luncheon as costumed table hostesses  
    preside over tea. Delight in refined Victorian entertainment as your hostess, Lady
    Jane, leads the day's music and vignettes.  The "Tea" will be at the Crystal Lake
    Golf Club located at 16725 Innsbrook Drive in Lakeville, Minnesota.


                                    ADVANCED TICKETS ONLY - Cost $35.00

WWII Living History Weekend      (Click here for more info)

    The European Theater of WWII will be highlighted during this living
    history weekend. A tank division of the Historical Reenactment Society will be
    present. This event features period equipment, costumed participants, and
    activities. Village buildings may be staffed by costumed hosts.
