Ever wonder how an event comes to happen at Dakota City? Go behind the scenes and see what is involved to put on an old-fashioned day in 1900 for the public to enjoy. Dakota City Heritage Village is the local treasure in Farmington that shows how people lived in a small rural village in the year 1900. You can learn about artifact acquisition, cataloging, staging artifacts, costumes and more. Weather permitting, take a ride through the village on our tractor-driven trolley and enjoy a hand-dipped ice cream cone from our old-fashioned drugstore at the end of the tour. For ages 18 and over, the cost is $10 and preregistration by September 16 is required through Farmington, Lakeville, Northfield or Rosemount Community Educations. Chose either the afternoon of September 18 or the morning of September 19.
