Dakota City is open during the months of June, July and August for scheduled group tours. This 2 hour program is designed to give the daycare centers, home daycare groups, YMCA groups, and other groups, the experience of what life would have been like for them 100 years ago. There are several hands-on experiences that will help children expand their understanding and appreciation of the past in an exciting and memorable way. Typical activities may include looking through stereoscopes, helping with laundry, and using slates with chalk in the school. You can customize your tour and choose your buildings to see when you call to schedule your tour. You are welcome to bring your lunch to enjoy in the village either after your morning tour or before your afternoon tour, which will add another 30 – 45 minutes to your total time in the village.
For more information or to make a reservation call 651-460-8050 ext. 3 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Scheduling starts in mid-March.
